The world is careening back toward a nuclear nightmare, and once again, Americans might need to dust off their potassium iodide pills—the tablets meant to protect us from radiation fallout. While the radical left and globalist elites prattle on about disarmament and diplomacy, the reality on the ground is brutal: rogue states like Russia, China, North Korea, and even Pakistan are aggressively expanding their nuclear arsenals. Meanwhile, the United States—despite having the most advanced military on Earth—is dangerously exposed thanks to decades of lax policy and political gamesmanship.
Let’s be clear: the nuclear arms race is not a relic of the Cold War. It’s roaring back with a vengeance. Russia has outright suspended arms control treaties, refusing to allow inspections and threatening retaliatory tests if the U.S. even dares to test its weapons. China is building over 100 new warheads each year, on track to match or surpass American nuclear capabilities by the mid-2030s. North Korea recently flaunted a new intercontinental missile. This isn’t some distant threat—it’s a clear and present danger.
And here’s the kicker: the U.S. military itself has a horrifying track record of near-disasters with its nuclear arsenal. Thirty-two documented “Broken Arrow” incidents—accidents involving nuclear weapons—have been publicly admitted. Six nuclear warheads have vanished entirely, lost in oceans or buried on American soil, one even “one safety switch away from exploding.” Despite our technological superiority, mistakes happen. Radiological fallout and nuclear catastrophe don’t care about elections, political parties, or diplomatic niceties.
Yet Democrats continue to play political chicken, blocking vital military funding and standing in the way of any serious effort to modernize or secure our arsenal. Their irresponsible posturing leaves America vulnerable while enemies get emboldened. When it comes to national security, there are no “safe spaces” for partisan games. Children’s lives, American sovereignty, and global stability depend on a robust defense posture, not virtue-signaling on Twitter.
President Trump recognized this danger and took bold steps to revamp our nuclear weapons. He understood that having the best arsenal is not about arrogance—it’s about survival. If we don’t “test and know” our capabilities, we risk walking into a nuclear confrontation blindfolded. With rival countries regularly holding live-fire drills and violating treaty terms, the threat of a nuclear mishap—whether accidental or deliberate—is rising. The question is, will Washington wake up before it’s too late, or will the next global catastrophe force us to pass out those iodine pills once again?
If the federal government can’t get serious about America’s security and stop bowing to left-wing pet projects, we’re all playing a deadly game of Russian Roulette. Are we ready to roll the dice on a nuclear accident or war because career politicians refuse to put country over party? The time for softness is over. The countdown has begun.
