This isn’t just risky; it’s irresponsible. For every bill that emerges claiming it will shield our kids from online hazards, it seems there’s a backdoor deal weakening its actual impact. Without the enforcement measures demanded by the stronger Senate proposal, social media executives will continue laughing all the way to the bank, as our youth continue to be fed misleading information, data mined, and manipulated online.
Why do our lawmakers remain beholden to the lofty promises of tech titans, instead of the everyday American families who elected them? This bill is more than a step backwards; it’s a revelation of misguided priorities. If we don’t stand firm now, what message are we sending about the value of our children’s safety? Is protecting them really not worth standing up to these corporate behemoths?
