The Democrats have once again proven why they are the greatest threat to honest government and to the American taxpayer. The latest scandal out of Florida involves Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick caught red-handed trying to steal over $5 million in federal disaster relief funds meant for genuine COVID-19 assistance. This wasn’t just a slip-up or honest mistake; her family’s health care company received a $5 million windfall when only $50,000 was requested, and instead of returning the money, they ran it through straw donors and funneled some into her campaign coffers. Fraud, money laundering, and a false tax return—this is not an isolated episode of corruption. It’s a glimpse into how Democrats treat federal funds like their personal piggy banks.
But, of course, when federal prosecutors come knocking, McCormick plays the race card, claiming the charges are aimed at intimidating minorities. Funny how the Democrat party’s minority leader himself demanded she step down from an influential subcommittee. Seems like Democrats only value minority status when it shields them from consequences—not when they mess up or steal. This pattern of using identity politics as a cover for outright corruption is as transparent as it is insulting.
Turning to Minneapolis, the situation only worsens. The city re-elected Democrat Mayor Jacob Frey, who bizarrely gave part of his victory speech in Somali—while tens of millions in Medicaid dollars tied to the Somali community have been skimmed off and shipped overseas to fund terrorist-linked groups. Minnesota taxpayers are getting robbed blind through fraudulent autism and housing programs, where the costs skyrocket year after year, yet officials twist themselves into pretzels to avoid accountability. And where was Frey while this was happening? Watching his Somali constituents line their pockets with American tax money while threatening national security. It’s obvious the far-left’s obsession with identity over integrity is actively endangering our country.
Chicago and North Carolina are no better. In Chicago, while the streets burn and crime runs rampant under Democrat rule, public funds meant for schools are being wasted on luxury vacations and lavish conferences. Meanwhile, in North Carolina, what should be straightforward school budgets are a mess of misappropriated money, obscene bonuses, and budget deficits—all swept under the rug by officials who then raise property taxes, squeezing hardworking residents to pay for the Democrats’ binge of corruption. This reckless squandering of taxpayer dollars is enabled by a political class that cares more about preserving a cushy status quo than protecting the public.
And on the international front, the Biden administration’s handling of US aid to Ukraine reads like a crime novel with billions of dollars missing. Money meant to support Ukraine’s fight has vanished into thin air, while the same Democrats in Washington rake in election cash. Zelensky’s inner circle is being investigated for embezzling millions, but don’t expect those investigations to roar forward with any real bite. It’s all connected—a global pattern of Democrats taking taxpayer money and funneling it wherever it serves their own interests, whether at home or abroad.
When will Americans wake up to the reality that the Democrat Party has institutionalized corruption? This isn’t about a few bad apples; it’s about a whole rotten orchard rotting on the vine. Too many Democrats have made a career out of betraying the people who put them in office, turning government relief funds, education budgets, and even foreign aid into a criminal slush fund. Enough is enough. How much longer will Americans allow this thievery to go unchecked? When will the federal government get serious about putting an end to the thieves masquerading as public servants?
