The liberal response to the decisive actions taken by the U.S. military against a suspected drug smuggling operation is just another example of leftist hysteria. A top U.S. general calmly explained to Congress that no wild “kill everyone” orders were given when the military targeted a shady boat in the Caribbean. Yet, some Democrats are still clutching their pearls over the operation. Instead of acknowledging the necessity of stopping drug traffickers, they’re fixated on the movie footage.
Isn’t it baffling how liberals fail to grasp the reality of combat situations? America’s brave soldiers were doing what needed to be done to protect our borders from criminal activity. But leave it to the left to question the integrity of our armed forces. Democrats in Congress seem to be more troubled by effective military action than they are by the flow of illegal drugs reaching our shores and infecting our communities.
What’s really troubling is the hypocrisy here. Democrats, who feign concern for the safety of Americans, find it convenient to bash the military every chance they get. It’s almost as if they have forgotten that the drugs smuggled by these criminals lead to ruined lives and unimaginable suffering.
If liberals spent more time supporting our troops and less time crying foul when these fine men and women do their jobs, maybe we’d have fewer drug problems. Instead, their focus remains on perpetually questioning the motives of those keeping this country safe, while waving the humanitarian flag when it’s politically expedient.
Who will these leftist politicians blame next time drug-related crimes surge in their cities? If they truly believe something’s wrong with targeting smugglers, perhaps they should rethink their own priorities. When the truth confronts fear-mongering, it isn’t a surprise that liberals scatter. It’s time for some tough questions: Why does the left side with dangerous criminals over the security of American families?
