There’s another scandal igniting a firestorm, and it’s happening in the state of Maine. When did it become standard for foreign nationals to exploit American taxpayers left and right while Democrats look the other way? A Somali-owned company is accused of swiping millions from Medicaid, yet the left is predictably more interested in defending these alleged fraudsters than protecting hard-working Americans.
It’s an all-too-familiar tale of corruption. A company owned by a Somali national, with ties to political antics abroad, is under fire for allegedly stealing millions meant for Maine’s most vulnerable citizens. Imagine! They faked documents and presumably pocketed taxpayer money while supposedly funding a militia in Somalia. Talk about robbing Peter to pay Paul—or in this case, robbing Maine to allegedly support a foreign militia.
What’s infuriating is the unwillingness of the left to tackle these issues head-on. When someone dares to speak out, like a Republican candidate doing what any responsible person would do by questioning where the money went, the knee-jerk reaction from Democrats is to scream racism. It’s always easier for them to demonize the messenger than to address glaring systemic issues.
Ironically, while their focus stays misguided, our taxpayer dollars might just be lining the wrong pockets. And in another liberal haven, Minnesota, similar fraud schemes allegedly funneled cash to terrorist groups. Meanwhile, their Democratic governor has the audacity to warn against “demonizing” residents. How about taking action against those who exploit the system instead of coddling law-breakers?
Isn’t it high time for America to wake up? Where’s the accountability? Where’s the outrage about foreign nationals taking advantage of American generosity? Are we going to keep letting fraudsters laugh their way to the bank while American citizens pick up the tab?
