CBS Faces Meltdown Over Bari Weiss’s New Anchor Decision

Bari Weiss, the so-called center-left luminary, is making headlines again, and the response is nothing short of hilarious. Her bold move to appoint a new CBS News anchor has stirred up quite the frenzy among the network’s staff. Cry me a river, CBS. The choice to put Tony Dokoupil, a supposedly “mediocre straight white man,” in the anchor chair has feathers ruffled. But maybe, just maybe, the real reason for all this whining is that his views align a bit more closely with reality than theirs do.

Remember, this is the same CBS that had Dan Rather peddling bogus documents back in 2004 to smear President George W. Bush. Yet, Rather still clings to his debunked story, pathetically defending it as an “error made in good faith.” What next, CBS? A tutorial on trustworthiness from CNN? This is the network that struggled for years with underwhelming, chirpy news presenters and ratings that never shook the shadow of their competitors. For two decades, it’s been one flop after another, yet here they are, feigning bewilderment over a new appointment.

Even the mighty CBS can’t seem to stay away from questionable practices. Recently, they had to cough up a whopping $16 million due to creative editing that made Kamala Harris appear coherent in a muddled interview. Deceptive, biased, and lacking ethics? Sounds like another day in liberal media. Now, CBS staffers are throwing fits over potential bias. If being aligned with pro-Israel views offends them, maybe it’s time to reassess their priorities, this side of sanity.

CBS deserves whatever Bari Weiss throws their way. They’ve long since severed ties with journalistic integrity, so let them squirm. Meanwhile, the figurative grave of the old CBS News is essentially a dance floor, ripe for celebration. The network executives cry foul yet again, projecting incompetence and hypocrisy. But in this circus, there’s no room for their misplaced outrage.

So here’s the million-dollar question for CBS: when did competence become mediocre, and when did reality become offensive?
