The audacity of some individuals to threaten our brave men and women in uniform is appalling. In New Jersey, twin brothers made heinous threats against a top Department of Homeland Security (DHS) official and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. Clearly, these threats are not just idle chatter but a sinister manifestation of the radical left’s war on our law enforcement.
The brothers, Ricardo and Emilio Roman-Flores, dared to weaponize social media with their vile messages. They spat venomous words about ICE agents, encouraging others to shoot them on sight. This is not just an isolated incident but a part of a growing trend where people think they are above the law. It’s no coincidence that these attacks on our officers come at a time when liberal media and sanctuary politicians have ramped up their disgraceful rhetoric against our immigration enforcement heroes.
ICE Director Todd Lyons did not mince words when he connected this explosion of threats to the irresponsible, leftist messaging spread by media elites and socialist politicians. These demagogues would have you believe that ICE agents are the enemy. Yet, these officials are on the frontline protecting our borders, removing dangerous criminals, and keeping America safe — the true defenders of American values.
And let’s not forget, this alarming surge in threats comes on the heels of robust immigration enforcement that resumed under the Trump administration, targeting illegal immigrants who break our laws. It seems the left would rather defend criminals than protect law-abiding citizens. This is their America, where lawlessness and anarchy are acceptable, and those upholding the law are demonized.
This case begs the question: How much longer will we let liberal hysteria endanger those who risk their lives to safeguard our country? It’s time to stand with our law enforcement officers, to amplify their voices rather than the shrill cries of those who incite violence.
