Elite Protection or Justice Failure Letitia James Walks Free Again

New York Attorney General Letitia James has once again escaped the long arm of the law as another grand jury in Virginia decided not to indict her on charges of mortgage fraud. The Justice Department has been pushing hard to pin a crime on James, whose attacks on former President Donald Trump are well-documented. Yet, it’s clear that these legal proceedings are being handled with kid gloves, protected by a system seemingly designed to shield the liberal elite.

The allegations are serious: lying on a mortgage application for property in Virginia should have been a slam dunk for prosecution. But, for some reason, the Justice Department keeps tripping over itself. Maybe they need to stop wasting taxpayers’ money and finally admit that they are more interested in political theater than in pursuing justice. Meanwhile, James walks away, untouched—a scenario all too familiar for those in her political circle.

There’s no doubt that the left-leaning establishment continues to insulate their chosen ones. They’ve shown once again that they play by different rules. It’s no coincidence that James was in Trump’s crosshairs during his presidency, and now she seems untouchable. It begs the question: how can ordinary Americans trust a justice system that appears rigged in favor of those who preach equality but live like they’re above the law?

Let’s not ignore the fact that DOJ’s case suffered from the unlawful appointment of a Trump ally as US Attorney. Disarray or deliberate sabotage? The fiasco allowed the left to dodge accountability again, dismissing the cases against James and another one of their own, James Comey. Halligan, the appointee, was unceremoniously shoved out, and there went another chance the system had to prove that it holds everyone to the same standards.

In America today, it seems as though corruption fights for one side while a two-tiered justice system does its best to protect them. If top officials can’t answer for their actions, how can we expect justice to prevail for any of us? Perhaps what we’re witnessing is less about justice and more about politics—as usual. Can we continue to let this mockery go unchallenged? Not if we care about preserving the rule of law.
