Liberal policies are once again in the spotlight after a tragic shooting unfolded at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Two people lost their lives and eight were left fighting for theirs. The culprit? An at-large suspect who slipped away after wreaking havoc, dressed ominously in all black. In a society steadily disintegrating under leftist agendas, events like this are sadly unsurprising.
This disaster exposes the failure of liberal strategies when it comes to keeping citizens safe. We’ve heard tales before about “gun-free” zones and their supposed magic. But when danger looms, those zones transform from safe havens into free-for-alls for criminals. It’s all talk and no action from the left, while innocent lives hang in the balance. Their anti-gun rhetoric glosses over the root issues, providing neither deterrence nor defense against a criminal’s intent.
Naturally, the usual parade of thoughts and prayers poured in from politicians who do little else. Their solutions are reactive, not proactive. The government under this administration claims to have our best interests at heart, yet such violent eruptions seem unending. For all the virtue signaling and heartstring-tugging platitudes, how is society benefiting from leadership that can’t keep Americans safe?
Where is the accountability for authorities who allow chaos to flourish? The so-called leaders are spending more energy on appeasing international bodies and promoting radical social policies than addressing the deep social decay at home. It’s a classic example of misplaced priorities and globalism overshadowing national safety.
Brown University’s campus remains in lockdown, a stark reminder of the undercurrent of tension this nation wrestles with daily. So, how many more tragedies must transpire before real change happens? The question looms whether we’ll see any tough actions from those in power or just more hollow sympathies.
