America’s Fight Against ISIS Heats Up as Liberal Weakness Puts Us All at Risk

The United States is stepping up its fight against ISIS, with Central Command reporting nearly 80 missions in Syria since July. This isn’t just number-crunching; it’s a clear signal that we won’t turn our backs on those who threaten our safety. Amid relentless attacks on American personnel—like the recent tragic incident that claimed the lives of two Iowa National Guard members and a civilian translator—it’s vital that we stay vigilant and aggressive.

For all the hand-wringing by liberals and their allies who preach about diplomatic soft-power, the facts are stark. ISIS has inspired at least 11 plots or attacks against U.S. targets in the past year alone. What do we see from the left? A focus on weakness and talking instead of acting. Instead of embracing our military might, they question our very right to defend ourselves.

Adm. Brad Cooper, the Central Command leader, declared the importance of these operations in Syria. Yet, one has to wonder why we have to chase these terrorists down at all when they could be extinguished before they even reach our shores. The ironic hypocrisy from the left, calling for more diplomacy while terrorists are plotting against us, serves to endanger American lives. It’s bewildering how they can criticize our true defenders—our soldiers—all while ISIS continues its acts of war against our nation.

Let’s face it: U.S. forces have partnered with the Syrian government to destroy ISIS weapon caches and eliminate threats. This might confuse those who advocate for pure non-interventionist policies, but the truth is that not all alliances are ideal, but they are necessary to advance American safety. The idea that we should wait for the perfect condition or refuse to work with existing regimes is not only naive but downright dangerous.

In the end, the fight against ISIS is a reminder that America can and must be strong. We owe it to the fallen soldiers, the dedicated servicemen and women, and most importantly, to ourselves as a nation. If we don’t grow a spine and act now, we could face consequences that make today’s battle seem small. Are we truly willing to risk our safety for the sake of political correctness? The answer should be a resounding no. America must stay the course and eliminate the Islamic State threat completely, once and for all.
