Stephen Colbert just can’t help himself. The man sees a Democrat power struggle as the perfect stage to play his favorite role: the dramatic victim of supposed “authoritarian” Trump oppression. On his late-night show, instead of facing up to the real mess within the Democratic Party, Colbert cooked up yet another tale of Trump crushing free speech. Classic misdirection from the Left.
Let’s be honest—this was a Democrat-on-Democrat battle, plain and simple. Senate hopeful James Talarico was meant to appear, going head-to-head with Jasmine Crockett and Ahmad Hassan. But the interview got shut down. Did Colbert face the fact that his own party loves to silence dissent and keep voters in the dark? Of course not. Instead, he cried about Trump as if the former president were lurking backstage, pulling the plug himself.
This is the liberal playbook: when Democrats mess up, blame Trump, or at least pretend his long shadow is hovering over every Washington squabble. Colbert and his ilk are desperate to distract Americans from the chaos inside the Democratic Party. Instead of talking about their candidates’ shady campaign tricks and backroom brawling, it’s easier to churn out bad Trump fan fiction for the late-night crowd.
The hypocrisy of the elitist media on full display—again. When their side is the one trampling over debate and free speech, they gaslight the public and concoct fake stories about the big, bad orange man. All the while, they expect the rest of us to swallow the lie that only Republicans threaten democracy, when it’s obvious the real silencing usually comes from within their own ranks.
Colbert’s latest stunt is more proof these woke comedians have nothing left but to point fingers and whine. Americans deserve the truth about the factions fighting for power in the Democratic Party—not this tired song and dance about imaginary Trump boogeymen. Maybe if Colbert looked in the mirror, he’d realize who’s really afraid of honest debate. Or is the Left so terrified they can only “defend free speech” when it’s their friends doing the talking?
