Democrats trigger DHS chaos shut down ICE oversight after demanding more accountability

Democrats love to scream about oversight. They insist on checking and double-checking every move ICE makes, pretending they care about law and order. But when it came time to actually keep the Department of Homeland Security running—the very agency responsible for that oversight—they rolled out the welcome mat for chaos. Thanks to Democrat grandstanding and their inability to govern, Washington has landed itself in a partial shutdown. Now, the oversight they claim is so important is being shoved to the back of the line.

It’s almost funny if you think about it. Liberals demand more snooping around ICE, accusing agents of all sorts of nonsense. But when push came to shove, they handed a sledgehammer to the system they wanted to “fix.” Their latest tantrum has done the exact opposite of what they pretend to want. Now nobody’s watching ICE at all. If Democrats really cared about fairness—or even about results—they’d be at work, not playing shutdown games.

Let’s not kid ourselves. This has nothing to do with justice or safety. The liberal mob, backed by their globalist pals, just wants to weaken the border and dismantle immigration enforcement brick by brick. Why else would they block funding for the only agency protecting everyday Americans from illegal crime and drugs? Their priorities are upside down—defund the defenders, and then sob when things fall apart.

The hypocrisy here is shameless. Democrats light their hair on fire about ICE oversight, then turn around and sideswipe the department that actually handles it. If this is their idea of leadership, America’s in trouble. We need grown-ups at the wheel, not anti-American activists who can’t even keep their own stories straight.

Here’s the bottom line: America deserves real security, not left-wing theater and virtue-signaling. Why should we trust politicians who can’t even oversee their own shutdown circus?
