Every time the sun erupts, America is put at risk—but you won’t hear the left talking about it. Solar flares, those fiery explosions blasting out from 93 million miles away, don’t care about election year narratives or the climate chatter dominating Washington. These so-called coronal mass ejections (CMEs) might look pretty—especially if you’re watching northern lights in Alaska—but when they hit our planet, the next thing they could torch isn’t the sky, but the entire power grid.
It’s already happened before. Back in 1859, a solar storm, stronger than anything since, fried the only electrical system America had: the telegraph. People saw sparks shooting out of the lines. Today, we have an electric web so massive and fragile it makes that old telegraph look like child’s play. But while we have bigger targets, we don’t have better defenses. Ask yourself—why haven’t the so-called “experts” in D.C. and their globalist think tanks made fixing our grid a real priority? Maybe because they’re too busy obsessing over pronouns and pushing climate hysteria to notice an actual threat.
Modern life is built on electricity. Liberals love to preach about going all-electric—electric cars, electric stoves, green everything. But if another Carrington Event rolls in, all their Tesla charging stations and smart fridges would be fried in a heartbeat. What will all the woke tech giants and eco-elites do then? They have no answers, just finger-pointing and empty hashtags.
Politicians seem more interested in padding Ukraine’s budget or making deals with Beijing than hardening America’s critical infrastructure. Meanwhile, these solar storms don’t ask permission before crashing the party. Yet the left would rather waste hundreds of billions on “renewables” while ignoring the elephant in the room: one rogue CME and we’re back to the Stone Age. Where’s the outrage about that?
Americans deserve real leadership—people who put our country first, not globalist fantasies. The solar threat is real, and it doesn’t care about your pet causes. So why isn’t Washington acting? Maybe it’s time we stop letting coastal elites distract us with nonsense and start demanding protection for the things that actually matter. Are we really ready to let the sun do more damage than the left already has?
