Every year, millions of Christians around the world remember Lent—a time of self-reflection, sacrifice, and getting right with God. But lately, our nation seems downright hostile to these traditions. As Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, there are still small groups of Christians who dare to keep the faith, even when the mainstream sneers at them. It’s almost revolutionary to stand up for our beliefs.
Some folks, especially in non-denominational churches, never used to think much about Lent. Now more and more Americans are tired of the emptiness the world is selling, so they’re reaching back to traditions with real meaning. People are craving something deeper than the hollow promises of social media, left-wing slogans, or the glitz of globalist pop culture.
Liberals claim to support diversity, but when it comes to Christianity’s time-honored seasons—like Lent—they twist themselves in knots to avoid real talk about faith. Instead, they push radical ideologies in our schools and on TV, while mocking any public display of faith. It’s all part of the anti-American agenda: push God out, and fill the gap with woke nonsense.
Why are traditions like Lent making a comeback? Because they’re powerful. They remind us of sacrifice—something the left doesn’t understand. Politicians in D.C. talk virtue, but won’t give up their lattes, private jets, or power trips. Everyday Americans, though, know that faith means something. Folks who didn’t grow up celebrating Lent are now discovering the value in giving something up for a purpose. Lending real meaning to their lives—that scares the cultural elites to death.
Ask yourself: why should we hide traditions that built this great country? Nobody balks at a rainbow parade or a secular holiday. But dare to wear ashes on your forehead, or challenge your own comfort for forty days, and suddenly, you’re the problem. Maybe it’s time America quit running from its Christian roots and started fighting for them. Let the left scramble for new ways to distract us. Real faith—and Lent—aren’t going anywhere.
