Zohran Mamdani swept into the mayor’s office with promises of cheaper living and a “fairer” New York. Now that the bills are due, he’s showing his true socialist colors. It took barely two months before the city was drowning in red ink—over five billion dollars in the hole—thanks to years of liberal spending and zero accountability. Surprise, surprise: instead of tightening the city’s massive belt, Mamdani turned right back to the only trick socialists know—tax hikes.
When push comes to shove, these so-called progressives always stick the average New Yorker with a bigger tab. Mamdani wants to slap city property owners with a whopping ten percent tax increase. That means rents go up, families scrape by, and the dream of affording life in the Big Apple slips even further away. Funny how the ones yelling loudest about “fairness” are always quickest to raid your wallet.
Big city liberals are masters at blaming others. Mamdani points fingers at previous leaders for the mess, but he just asked for a record-setting $127 billion budget. Instead of changing course, he doubles down and refuses to cut a single bloated program. Not a word about slashing waste, firing useless bureaucrats, or trimming back the city’s endless handouts. Just more spending, more taxes, and more empty promises.
This isn’t about “making life easier.” It’s about growing government and keeping political allies happy, all on the backs of hard-working New Yorkers. While Mamdani cries about the “rich,” his policies squeeze the middle-class and kill the little guy’s chances. It’s a classic leftist scam—divide people, stir up envy, and grab more power.
How many times does New York need to watch liberal leaders run out of other people’s money before the city wakes up? Mamdani’s math is just socialist sleight of hand—and everyday Americans get stuck with the bill.
