The latest stunt from the left—”National Shutdown Day”—has exposed the sad state of our schools. Instead of learning math, science, or even how to read a sentence, students are walking out of the classroom to protest Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Yes, you heard that right: middle and high schoolers, who can barely spell their own names, are now experts on federal immigration policy.
Liberal activists no longer care about actual education. They want to turn our public schools into training camps for angry protesters. While kids in China and India are mastering complex subjects, our teens are being coached to chant slogans against the very country that protects their freedom. It’s no wonder American test scores keep tanking while globalist interests cheer from the sidelines.
Let’s be honest—these walkouts aren’t about “justice” or “community.” They’re about teaching kids to despise American workers who enforce the law. The left cares more about open borders than it does about kids’ futures. Why bother raising graduation rates or improving literacy when you can dress up anti-American tantrums as activism?
What’s really disgusting is the hypocrisy. The same people who say kids are too young to handle responsibility now think they’re wise enough to dictate border policy. Meanwhile, they’re failing basic writing tests. The priorities are all backwards—liberals want a generation that can’t balance a checkbook but can block traffic in the name of social justice.
Here’s a radical idea: stay in the classroom and learn something useful. Instead of marching out for the latest leftist cause, maybe Johnny and Julie should try reading an actual book. America didn’t get great by raising entitled protestors. It became great by working hard, following the law, and respecting the country that gives us everything.
