Everywhere you look, the fingerprints of pandemic panic still stain American life. Walk past your local swimming pool or stroll into the grocery store, and the first thing that greets you isn’t a friendly neighbor but an obnoxious sign yelling about “social distancing.” Stick figures, six feet apart, treat everyone like potential criminals. Fear is the new virtue, all thanks to our modern guardians of “public health.”
How quickly freedom went out the window. The so-called experts—propped up by their friends in the mainstream media—turned everyday Americans into masked sheep. People obsessed over the news, shaming others for not playing along with useless mask theater. Even once-sacred spaces weren’t safe. Libraries, Bible Bowls, everywhere you went, leftist alarmism hung in the air. Meanwhile, liberals treated themselves as the saviors of society, never questioning the draconian measures they inflicted on regular folks trying to live their lives.
The truth is, these heavy-handed rules had little to do with health and everything to do with control. Politicians, bureaucrats, and globalist elites cashed in on America’s fear, pushing endless mandates while comfortably ignoring the livelihoods they destroyed. The radical left was quick to point fingers at anyone who dared question the narrative, labeling them as dangerous or ignorant. But when did skepticism become a crime in this country? Liberals love to claim they’re on the side of “the science,” but all too often, their rules had nothing to do with real data and everything to do with forcing compliance.
The hypocrisy is endless. The same people yelling about safety were the first to break their own rules behind closed doors. They banned church services, shut down small businesses, yet made exceptions for protests and political rallies that fit their agenda. There was never any “shared sacrifice”—just a constant power grab.
Real Americans don’t need government nannies telling them how to stand or which way to face. We need leaders who trust the people, not leaders who treat every citizen like a threat. The whole hysteria should teach us to never trade freedom for the illusion of safety again. Will the left ever admit their overreach, or do they just like bossing people around too much to stop?
