When liberals say socialism works, just ask Canada how that’s going for them. Apparently, our northern neighbors, those supposed paragons of progressive virtue, have managed to get themselves into a mess so epic that even Alabamians are now living better off than the average Canadian. This isn’t some comedy skit. It’s the cold, hard truth, served up courtesy of global economic numbers that no amount of maple-flavored spin can hide anymore.
For decades, smug Canadian politicians loved wagging their fingers at America. They lectured about their “superior” health care, boasted about being “kinder” and “gentler,” and pointed south to the Deep South — places like Alabama — as examples of everything they had moved beyond. Well, here come the numbers. Canada’s less wealthy than Alabama in 2024, and it’s not even close. Turns out, building rocket engines, running world-class biotech labs, landing big-time pharma plants, and actually wanting to work for a living can outpace government handouts and endless national apologies.
Mayor Tommy Battle of Huntsville’s been fighting to bring high-paying, skilled jobs to his city for years. While the liberals love to sneer about “bible-thumpers” and “backwards” Southerners, Huntsville just keeps making headlines for the right reasons. When’s the last time Trudeau’s socialist crew pulled off anything close to luring a $6-billion manufacturing facility with thousands of construction and engineering jobs? Canada, once the strong, proud maple leaf, is now struggling to keep up with states the left used to mock.
Of course, the real comedy here is watching Canadians act shocked. “How could this happen out of nowhere?” they gasp. Out of nowhere? Maybe if you ignore years of liberal policies, heavy taxes, suffocating regulations, and massive government overreach, it sneaks up on you. But to anyone paying attention, this isn’t surprising. You can’t drown your economy in red tape and expect it to swim.
But what will the globalists and radical left blame now? Alabama of all places is becoming a symbol of American grit and resurgence—while Canada slides backwards into mediocrity under woke governance and anti-business nonsense. Maybe it’s time for the liberal elite to take a road trip to the Heart of Dixie and see what real opportunity looks like.
If being woke and “progressive” is supposed to make you richer, why are Canadians left counting pennies while Alabamians cash in on the American dream? Maybe it’s time to wake up and smell the free market.
