Democrats let 243 million gallons of sewage flood DC while preaching about climate change

Washington, D.C. talks a big game about saving the environment. The left wants you to believe they care more than anyone about clean water and healthy rivers. But when it comes to actually protecting our nation’s capital from real disaster, these Democrats are missing in action.

Just last month, a massive sewage line along the Potomac River collapsed—dumping a jaw-dropping 243 million gallons of raw sewage into the water. You read that right. Nearly a quarter of a billion gallons of filth, leaking through the historic C&O Canal Park in Maryland, straight into the main waterway of the nation’s capital. Where are the climate warriors now? Preaching about cow farts and plastic straws while Washington’s own backyard becomes a toxic dump.

Here’s the real kicker: local officials knew this pipe was a ticking time bomb. D.C. Water approved a $44 million “emergency” contract way back in May 2025, with clear signs that this critical sewage line was at risk. Why did no one bother to actually fix the problem before it exploded in everyone’s face? Well, the so-called leadership in charge cares more about virtue-signaling on social media than doing their jobs.

Even more rich—Mayor Muriel Bowser played the same tired game we see from blue cities. She declared a local emergency and started begging for federal cash only after the river was already poisoned. These are the same people who treat taxpayers like an endless ATM, demanding more of your money while delivering less and less accountability.

Of course, if this were an oil spill, Democrats in Congress would be camped out at the water’s edge with TV cameras, howling about “big oil” and Republican “climate denial.” But since the disaster happened on their watch, caused by their own negligence, it’s suddenly not a crisis worth talking about. America is supposed to welcome millions to D.C. for its 250th birthday soon—what kind of message does a river full of sewage send to the world?

Maybe it’s time for Democrats to spend less energy attacking farmers, gas stations, and your grocery bags—and start cleaning up their own mess. Or is true environmental responsibility just another left-wing slogan that washes away, just like sewage in the Potomac?
