Liberals couldn’t hide their glee when the Supreme Court ruled against President Trump’s ability to slap tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. The left instantly threw a victory party, ready to dance on the grave of Trump’s America First trade policies. But, as usual, they let their Trump Derangement cloud their judgment. That joy lasted all of five minutes—until even CNN of all places had to admit the whole anti-Trump celebration was premature.

Here’s the reality: President Trump’s plans to protect American industry and jobs are far from dead. The Supreme Court may have closed one door, but there are still plenty of ways for a strong leader to defend this country from foreign economic threats. Trump wasn’t silent about it either. While the media desperately tried to spin the news as a knockout blow, Trump confidently explained there were backup plans for keeping tariffs in play—for our national security and for American workers.

It’s the same old liberal song and dance: celebrate first, realize later that they never understood the rules of the game. While they’re popping champagne over what they hope will be a win for China, they completely forget that America has legal firepower when it comes to protecting its people. The left would rather leave our economy defenseless than ever admit Trump’s policies might work. Have they ever met a globalist idea they didn’t love? You’d think Nancy Pelosi was applying for a job at the World Economic Forum.

This constant mistake, this endless wish-casting, exposes just how much the Democrats don’t understand power—or the law.

Americans should ask themselves why the left is cheering every time American leverage is weakened. Why do they panic when Trump puts American jobs first, but party when our industries lose out to cheap Chinese imports?
