Liberals are running around in circles again, whining about tariffs and trade, while business groups clamor for cash after a Supreme Court decision shakes things up. The left always acts surprised when real leadership steps in to protect American industries from getting steamrolled by foreign competition. President Trump understood this. He boldly used the tools at his disposal to give the U.S. the upper hand in global trade, unafraid to upset the weak-kneed globalists more concerned about Brussels than our own backyard.
Now the Supreme Court—thank goodness for constitutional checks—has forced the issue back into the spotlight. Suddenly, business groups are out there demanding a quick refund on taxes they claim they never should’ve paid. Their priority? Not American jobs or sovereignty, but getting those sweet tariff dollars back into their pockets as fast as humanly possible. That’s the problem with so many of these corporate giants: they wave the flag when it helps their bottom line, but the moment it pinches, they cry foul and cozy up to liberal judges.
Let’s not forget why the tariffs happened in the first place. The International Emergency Economic Powers Act is there so a president can act decisively in the face of global threats—something President Trump wasn’t afraid to do. He smacked tariffs on nearly every product flooding in from foreign countries because he put America first. It was about time someone did something after years of Democrats letting American factories rust and blue-collar workers pick up the crumbs. For liberals, protecting the American worker seems to be an afterthought—if it’s on their mind at all.
The left loves to tell us that tariffs are some evil scheme cooked up by “economic nationalists.” Newsflash: these tariffs gave American manufacturers a fighting chance and showed the world we’re not going to be pushed around anymore. Now, in the wake of this Supreme Court ruling, we see business groups tripping over themselves for refunds. Where were their concerns for American jobs when cheap imports gutted entire towns? The hypocrisy is blinding, but typical for globalist elites who lecture everyone else about “fairness” while padding their own bank accounts.
This Supreme Court decision is another reminder of the constant battle between those who want to put America first and the open-borders crowd salivating for a return to the old, failed ways. Will we stand with leaders who use every lawful tool to protect our future, or let the globalist class and their liberal cheerleaders drag us back to the days of surrender and decline? The real question is—when will America finally get tired of being second best in our own country?
