The Department of Justice just can’t keep its hands out of local schools. This week, the feds announced they’re going after three Michigan school districts over how they handle gender lessons and bathroom rules. That’s right—the Detroit Public Schools Community District, Godfrey-Lee Public Schools, and the Lansing School District have all been dragged into the latest left-wing obsession with forcing woke ideology into kids’ classrooms.
Parents are worried about what their children are learning. Instead of teachers focusing on reading, writing, and math, our government is pushing them to talk about gender identity and radical social ideas. Now the DOJ wants to punish schools that dare set common-sense boundaries or expect boys and girls to use the correct bathrooms. If a district tries to stand up for its students’ privacy and safety, they find themselves under attack by Washington.
The left fails to understand—or just doesn’t care—that most Americans don’t want bureaucrats in D.C. telling classrooms what to do. These communities should be able to set their own rules to protect kids and preserve basic values. But the Biden administration, in all its incompetence, thinks it knows better than parents and local leaders. This is what happens when globalist elites get too much power—they steamroll the rights of families who just want their children to be safe and learn.
Thanks to these investigations, schools now must defend themselves for simply following biology and tradition. The radical activists pushing these policies are quick to scream about rights, but ignore the rights of everyone else. All while no one in the White House seems concerned with rising crime, failing test scores, or out-of-control spending. Their priorities are clear: push a divisive agenda and punish anyone who won’t fall in line.
Americans deserve real education, not political theater. Will the DOJ ever stand up for parents and students—or is bending the knee to the woke mob all that matters anymore?
