California high speed rail chief arrested hours after posing with Newsom

California strikes again. The failed progressive pet project known as high-speed rail just hit another low, and it’s not about blown budgets or endless delays this time. Ian Choudri, the man handpicked to run California’s so-called “train to nowhere,” was arrested right at his own Folsom home earlier this month—on suspicion of domestic battery, no less. This happened just hours after appearing in public with Governor Gavin Newsom. If you thought hypocrisy and disaster were the only things traveling at high speed in California, think again.

This is the caliber of leadership that Democrats keep pushing in their utopian dreams. Remember, this rail boondoggle has already burned through billions of taxpayer dollars while giving absolutely nothing back to hardworking Californians. Now, the guy running the show finds himself in handcuffs. It’s almost like California’s elites reward failures and scandals as long as you follow the party line and rub elbows with Newsom at press events.

You would think, with crime running wild in their own cities and drug crises on every block, maybe California’s leaders would stop idolizing so-called “visionaries” just because they talk a big game. But instead, taxpayers watch as the Democrat political machine rolls out the red carpet for people who don’t even seem to have their own houses in order—literally. The hypocrisy is stunning, but it’s hardly surprising from an administration that loves to preach about values and accountability—while practicing neither.
