The annual White House Governors Dinner is supposed to be a place where America’s top leaders come together for the good of the country. But this year, something was missing. Not a single Democrat bothered to show up while the president and first lady tried to put on their usual fancy act. The absence was glaring—and it speaks volumes about the real state of unity in Washington.
Where were all those big talkers who lecture us nonstop about reaching across the aisle? When given the chance to stand with their fellow governors and the nation’s leaders, Democrat heads were nowhere to be found. Apparently, it’s easier for the left to pontificate about “togetherness” on TV than actually show up and practice it at the White House. They love their speeches, but cowardly skip the hard work of working together—how typical.
It’s hard not to see this as yet another display of liberal arrogance. Democrats seem to think their attendance is optional when it comes to important events that put America first. Are they too busy catering to their globalist donors and radical activists? For years, they’ve put the interests of illegal immigrants and foreign nations ahead of the American people. Now, they’re making it crystal clear: unity isn’t on their agenda unless it’s on their terms.
This dinner could have been a rare moment to set politics aside and actually discuss solving some big problems facing our states—sky-high inflation, open borders, rising crime—issues Democrats claim to care about but can’t stomach addressing alongside conservatives. No surprise. The left likes to hide when it comes to honest debate, preferring to mock, cancel, or label anyone who disagrees.
America is watching while these so-called “leaders” boycott their own president’s flagship dinner. Maybe Democrats are embarrassed by their own failed policies, or maybe they’re just showing, once again, that their idea of “unity” is nothing more than empty words. At this point, can anyone really call this party patriotic when they can’t even bother to show up and face the music?
