And after winning gold in the halfpipe, she proudly sang the Chinese communist anthem for the world to see.
It’s no secret where her loyalties lie. While American athletes work hard to represent the land of the free, Gu took her talent and fame straight into the arms of a regime that censors its people, crushes dissent, and stands against everything the United States believes in. This isn’t some harmless act of “cultural exchange.” It’s a slap in the face to the nation that raised her. Liberals love to preach about unity and American pride—until it’s time to stand up to China. Then suddenly, their voices go soft.
Let’s be clear: Gu’s decision isn’t about “inspiration” or “bridging cultures.” Strutting onto the podium to belt out a communist anthem handed the Chinese Communist Party a propaganda victory. And America gets nothing but embarrassment. Our own homegrown athletes are turning into poster children for a regime that locks up its critics and threatens our security, while the liberal elite cheer her on for being “brave” and “global.” The hypocrisy is staggering.
This is what happens when America bends over backward for globalist dreams. We hand out training, resources, and global fame only to watch our best and brightest get swallowed up by the very powers that wish to see America weakened. Meanwhile, the liberal establishment acts like nothing’s wrong—ignoring the fact that this is about loyalty, dignity, and taking pride in where you’re from. If someone can’t even sing their home country’s anthem, maybe they should pack their bags and move for good.
Americans shouldn’t have to watch their own turn into mouthpieces for communism just because it’s trendy among the elite. It begs the question: How many more of our athletes, artists, and leaders will sell out American values for a quick taste of fame or cash from foreign dictatorships? The answer says a lot about where our nation is headed—and it should make every real patriot furious.
