California’s golden boy, Gavin Newsom, is at it again—and this time he’s not just embarrassing himself, but exposing the ugly underbelly of Democrat double standards for the whole country to see. While trying to sell his new book with a title that sounds like something a spoiled rich kid thinks will impress his buddies—“Young Man in a Hurry, a Memoir of Discovery”—Newsom just can’t help himself from stepping in it wherever he goes.
Recently on his not-so-glamorous book tour, Newsom wandered into Georgia thinking he could charm the locals. But instead of uplifting anyone, his remarks instantly backfired and blew up all over social media. Instead of gracious Southern hospitality, all he got was well-deserved outrage. This is what happens when a clueless California elitist drops in to lecture red states. He ended up sounding downright offensive, drawing serious accusations of racism.
Only a Democrat could swoop into another state, spew tone-deaf nonsense, and think he’d be hailed as a hero. If a Republican governor ever said what Newsom said, the media would be calling for his head on a platter. But because Newsom’s a darling of the liberal media, they’ll bend over backwards to give him a pass. Once again, we see a stunning display of Democrat hypocrisy at work.
It’s almost funny—if it weren’t so dangerous. Newsom seems to think he’s some kind of moral authority, globe-trotting for his own ego while his own state falls apart. California is drowning in crime, homelessness, and high taxes, and this guy wants the rest of America to take advice from him? The arrogance is just staggering.
Liberals like Newsom want to tell us how to live while giving themselves endless hall passes for their own bad behavior. If this is the best the Democrats have to offer, maybe it’s time they stopped writing self-obsessed memoirs and started listening to the American people for once. How many more “discoveries” does Newsom need before he realizes nobody’s buying what he’s selling?
