California’s top progressive, Gavin Newsom, is at it again—putting his foot in his mouth and then acting shocked when anyone calls him out. The governor, who sees himself as the golden boy of leftist politics, went in front of a black audience and made the stunning claim that he’s just like them because he’s dyslexic and didn’t do well on his SATs. Yes, you read that right. According to Newsom, his struggles with reading and a low test score somehow make him able to relate to the black experience in America.
Only a pampered liberal like Newsom could think that flunking his SATs is the same as facing real challenges in life. The world isn’t laughing with him—they’re laughing at him. But don’t expect Newsom to grasp why people are offended or find his comments ridiculous. He’s too busy wallowing in self-pity, thinking he’s the real victim here.
When pressed on the blowback, Newsom acted outraged that anyone would dare call him out. Classic behavior from the left: whenever their “woke” talking points land like a lead balloon, they instantly play the victim card. Newsom won’t, for one second, consider the fact that his remarks were not just tone-deaf—they were downright offensive. In his insulated world of California elites, he truly believes he can say whatever he wants and never face consequences.
This is just more evidence that liberal leaders are out of touch with real people. They claim to stand for minorities, but in reality, they’re clueless about what everyday Americans actually face. Newsom wants to make everything about himself and his feelings, only proving how self-centered and arrogant the progressive ruling class has become.
At the end of the day, Newsom wants to lecture everyone about what’s “right,” while he puts his own ignorance on full display. If this is the best the left has to offer, maybe they should stop trying to relate and start listening for once. Or is it just too hard for California’s king to imagine that not everything is about him?
