Scottish Politicians Are Coming for Your Home, Your Savings—and Even Grandma’s Jewelry
Welcome to Europe, where so-called “progressive” governments have declared all-out war on private property, and apparently, common sense. Scotland has cooked up a new wealth tax plan so radical that it doesn’t just target your income. Now, bureaucrats want a yearly cut of everything you own—your house, your retirement savings, and even your jewelry box. If you think this is just another leftist money grab, you’re absolutely right.
Let’s be clear: Wealth taxes are nothing more than legalized theft disguised as fairness. This isn’t about “the rich” finally paying their “fair share.” This is about greedy governments that have blown their budgets, desperately clawing at citizens’ hard-earned assets to fund more of their reckless spending. Don’t forget, these aren’t profits or sales being taxed—this is about squeezing you for the things you’ve already bought and paid for. You worked for decades to buy a home or save for retirement, and now the Scottish National Party wants a yearly ransom for the privilege of keeping what’s rightfully yours.
And don’t be fooled—it doesn’t stop at real estate or pensions. The Scottish government is so hungry for cash, they want to tax your wedding ring, your grandmother’s heirloom necklace, even the coins jingling in your pocket. If you own it, they want a piece of it. The left always preaches about “equality,” but their answer is to drag everyone down to the lowest common denominator, until no one owns anything—except, maybe, the government and its cronies.
The evidence is out there. Norway’s own wealth tax drove hundreds of productive citizens out of the country, taking their money—and jobs—with them. France tried this disastrous idea and ended up with less money and fewer wealthy people to tax. But somehow, the self-important elites in Scotland think they’ll succeed where everyone else has failed. Spoiler alert: They won’t.
Don’t think these insane ideas are just a European problem. The American left is drooling over this model. California’s already starting down this road, and the Biden Administration tried to introduce a tax on money people haven’t even made yet. Not satisfied with taxing your work, they want to tax your future, your past, and your dreams.
Maybe it’s time politicians stop pretending your property belongs to them. Or do they really intend for you to own nothing and be happy? If this is what “progress” looks like, count freedom-loving citizens out.
