It’s Winter Olympics season — the time when Americans across the country gather around their TVs, wrapped in stars and stripes, to celebrate the hard work and grit of our athletes. Or at least, that’s what used to happen. Now, thanks to the radical left, even cheering for Team USA is under attack.
The woke outrage machine kicked into overdrive recently, just as Team USA was racking up medals and making America proud. Out of nowhere, left-wing activists started questioning whether it’s okay to feel proud of the American flag or even chant “USA!” while our athletes compete on the world stage. The left says Americans should feel guilt and shame — not pride — just because they disagree with the current administration. According to their twisted logic, cheering for our Olympians somehow means ignoring every problem in America’s history.
It’s another tired example of liberals placing their political agenda above the American spirit. The Olympics have always been about unity, competition, and national pride. But apparently, that’s too much for the professional complainers who want us to feel bad about our country every day. When liberals start telling Americans to tone down the patriotism, you have to wonder: What do they really stand for? If waving the American flag makes them so uncomfortable, are they rooting for someone else to win?
Patriots on social media saw right through this nonsense and erupted in outrage. Regular Americans aren’t ashamed of loving their country. They know exactly who makes the U.S. a beacon for the rest of the world — hard-working people who persevere, succeed, and yes, celebrate what it means to be American. Suggesting that problems at home mean we should stop cheering for Team USA is absurd. It’s not just ungrateful, it’s un-American.
The left’s endless grumbling about “national shame” just shows how clueless they are about what brings us together. They want to weaponize every occasion for their anti-American crusade — but at the end of the day, most Americans are proud of their country, their flag, and their athletes. Maybe the real cognitive dissonance is thinking you’re “resisting” by refusing to support your own nation on the world stage. Here’s a wild thought: If the other side won’t root for America, why are they still living here?
