The anti-gun lobby loves to tell Americans that they’re out to “save lives.” But anyone who looks past the fear-mongering headlines can see the truth staring them in the face: these groups are laser-focused on stripping law-abiding citizens of their rights—not on making anyone safer.
Take a look at what’s happening in Vermont. The gun controllers spent years whining about Vermont’s gun laws, painting the state as a supposed haven for “gun violence.” But now, after bending over backwards to please the anti-gun crowd and shoveling through a pile of new restrictions, Vermont gets a gold star from the gun control brigade. Pat on the back! Mission accomplished! Never mind the data.
Here’s the kicker: as Vermont racks up more anti-gun laws, the number of murders reported in the Green Mountain State didn’t go down—it went up. The homicide rate jumped from where it was back when these activist groups claimed Vermont was a danger zone. So while murders surge, the anti-gun “experts” reward the state with a shiny new grade. Meanwhile, the rest of the country actually started to see a drop in homicides. Nothing to see here, folks, as long as politicians keep signing away your freedom.
If these people cared about safety, the numbers would matter. But they don’t. All that matters is control. These groups cheer when politicians take guns away from ordinary, law-abiding Americans and push for more hoops and red tape. Never mind that criminals steal their guns, buy them off the street, or get them from every source except your local gun shop. The elites know full well this won’t stop crime. That’s never been the point.
Let’s call this what it is: a political crusade against your Second Amendment rights, using “public safety” as a smokescreen. They simply can’t stand when millions of honest Americans arm themselves. They want power—plain and simple. So why reward a state for making things worse? Maybe ask Giffords and the rest of the anti-gun club why their “solutions” fail, then get top marks anyway. Americans know the real agenda: control first, freedom second—if at all.
