Once again, the D.C. elites have proven they’re more interested in patting themselves on the back than actually solving real problems. Over a year after a horrific plane crash at Reagan National Airport stole the lives of 67 innocent Americans, Congress found yet another way to fumble their responsibility. The House just slammed the brakes on an aviation safety bill passed by the Senate, and for good reason—the so-called “solution” didn’t even bother to tackle what caused the tragedy in the first place.
Liberals love passing bills with fancy names and big price tags, but where is the accountability? Where is the urgency? The left throws together half-baked legislation to score political points, all while ignoring the failures that got us here. The families of those lost at Reagan deserve answers, not more vapid lip service. Americans shouldn’t have to cross their fingers and hope bureaucrats learned their lesson the next time they board a plane.
Why did the Senate pass a bill with zero teeth? Maybe because special interest lobbyists whisper louder in their ears than the cries of grieving families. Maybe because, when it comes down to it, the globalist class in D.C. cares more about image than fixing what’s broken in our own backyard. Democrats have turned our government into a PR machine, pushing rushed “solutions” that never actually solve anything.
Let’s be honest—if the situation was reversed, if this crash was used to push some leftist pet project, you’d see the mainstream media, the White House, and every blue-state talking head screaming for “change.” But fix the root causes of a tragic crash? That gets swept under the rug. Why? Because confronting the real issues means admitting incompetence, bad priorities, and years of government neglect—something liberals refuse to own up to.
The House was right to toss this empty bill in the trash. Band-Aids don’t heal wounds this deep. Americans need leaders who aren’t afraid to call out incompetence, demand transparency, and finally put our safety ahead of political theater. Is that really too much to ask? Or is common sense just too “radical” for the swamp to handle?
