Olympic champs snub White House as woke priorities take over American pride

The gold medal should be the highest honor for any athlete. Winning it for your country? That’s supposed to mean everything. But it looks like the women’s Olympic hockey team has more “important” things to do than honor that achievement by visiting the White House. It’s just another sign of how skewed our priorities have become in this country.

After both the men’s and women’s hockey teams stood tall, crushing our old foe Canada and grabbing gold in overtime thrillers, you’d think there’d be just a little pride in showing up at the nation’s capital. But the women’s team can’t make time for America’s highest office? What could possibly be more urgent than standing with the President and celebrating your nation, your teammates, and your victory on home soil?

This kind of no-show attitude is becoming all too common. There was a time when an invitation to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue meant something—when athletes of every stripe couldn’t wait to shake the President’s hand, take photos, and make memories their grandkids would talk about. But today, with all the liberal nonsense infecting sports, suddenly a visit to the White House isn’t the honor it used to be. Are these athletes just “too busy,” or are they turning their backs on tradition and respect for the country that gave them this shot?

Let’s be real—this looks like a slap in the face not just to the office of the President, but to every American who rooted for them from their living room. Our country isn’t perfect, but it’s given them the opportunity to rise to the top. If they can’t be bothered to visit the White House, maybe they’ve spent too much time listening to globalist elites and not enough time remembering what’s really important: the flag on their jersey and the fans at home.

So, what are they so busy with? Sponsorship deals? Social media posts? Woke activism? America is tired of athletes who think they’re above our traditions but have no problem cashing in on the country they claim to represent. Maybe next time we should send a team that’s proud to be American, not just proud to win.
