Outrage erupts as NYPD officers get pelted with snowballs while City Hall sides with agitators

It’s official: in today’s New York City, leftist “equity” comes before law, order, or plain old common sense. Just look at the latest disgrace in Washington Square Park. Video footage went viral of NYPD officers, forced to stand by and take it, as activists booed and pelted them with snowballs. These aren’t just bored teenagers; they are grown adults, emboldened by a city government that has made it crystal clear that criminals and agitators are more valuable than those who serve and protect.

Why does this happen? The answer is staring New Yorkers in the face. New mayor Zohran Mamdani would rather funnel millions into pet “equity” projects than keep the streets safe. He axed a plan that would have put 5,000 more cops in uniform—just so he could pour nearly $10 million into redundant “racial equity” bureaucracies. This isn’t justice. It’s lunacy, and you don’t need a crystal ball to see where this road leads.

Meanwhile, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch had to step in and call out this so-called “protest” for what it is: criminal behavior. The leftist mob, of course, has a meltdown, attacking anyone who dares defend police officers from actual assaults. And with Mamdani’s track record, how long until Commissioner Tisch finds herself on the chopping block for simply trying to do her job?

Even former governor Cuomo—no one’s idea of a conservative hero—couldn’t stomach this nonsense. He condemned the attack, reminding everyone that real leaders support those who keep order. Yet so far, Mayor Mamdani has stayed silent, probably too busy virtue-signaling to his activist base to bother defending his city’s own police.

The facts are simple: the more power socialists get in American cities, the more they erode basic law and order. The left preaches about “the warmth of collectivism,” but in practice, it just means brave cops get pelted while anarchists cheer. Where does this end? When the last ounce of sanity is driven out of New York—and the criminals finally run City Hall.
