Democrats Caught Sitting While Americans Suffer During Shutdown Schumer Backs Shocking Protest

While everyday Americans feel the pain from yet another government shutdown, Democrats are busy staging political theater. Right now, our government is only partly open because Congress couldn’t get its act together and pass funding for the Department of Homeland Security. And what are liberals doing? They’re sitting on their hands, both literally and figuratively, while the country suffers.

Chuck Schumer, always the liberal ringleader, is backing up Democrats who couldn’t bother to stand during the State of the Union. Their childish protest is just the latest display of how the left puts petty politics ahead of the American people. When government workers wonder if they’ll get paid—or if our borders will be more vulnerable—the Democrats are too busy making statements and playing to the cameras.

Let’s be clear: failing to approve the money for homeland security isn’t just lazy, it’s irresponsible. It puts our safety at risk. But Democrats are more concerned with blocking President Trump’s commonsense border policies than doing their jobs. Their loyalty is to their own fragile egos and the approval of their globalist pals, not to hardworking Americans who want safe neighborhoods and secure borders.

This hypocrisy is stunning. Liberals love to lecture everyone about “democracy” and “respect,” but when it’s time to show some respect for our nation and its traditions, they stay glued to their chairs in protest. Where’s their concern for unity? Where’s their willingness to work for real solutions? Schumer’s support of this behavior only proves the left is content to whine instead of lead.

America deserves better than a party that sits out on its responsibilities while our security, paychecks, and future hang in the balance. Maybe if Democrats spent more time standing up for the country and less time making themselves look important, we’d actually have a government that works. How much longer will voters tolerate politicians who measure success by how loudly they protest instead of how effectively they serve?
