The Democratic Party just gave America another slap in the face. This time, it’s courtesy of Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger, who used the official Democratic response to the State of the Union to lecture the country about so-called “aspiring Americans.” Translation? Illegal aliens. She isn’t even shy about it. Instead of standing up for American families, Spanberger is worried about criminals sneaking across the border—and wants us to pat them on the back.
Spanberger accused President Trump of cracking down too hard on border crossers, like it’s somehow evil to enforce our nation’s laws. She made it sound like ICE agents are villains for arresting people who break the law. Never mind the fact that these are the same men and women who protect our neighborhoods from drugs, crime, and chaos. President Trump saw the surge of illegal crossings and acted—because that’s what responsible leaders do. But apparently, Democrats think open borders make us more “compassionate.”
Calling illegal aliens “aspiring Americans” is the height of left-wing doublespeak. If someone broke into your house, you wouldn’t call them your “aspiring roommate.” You’d call the police. But the left would rather turn our country into a lawless playground than secure the border. They want to redefine what it means to be an American—no citizenship, no loyalty, just cross the border and demand benefits.
This kind of pandering proves the modern Democrat Party is more interested in impressing global elites than protecting the American people. Spanberger’s speech shows that Democrats are willing to throw U.S. citizens under the bus just to score points with activists and illegal immigrants. While millions of hardworking Americans struggle to afford groceries, left-wing politicians spend their precious airtime fighting for the so-called rights of lawbreakers.
Maybe next time, Spanberger will just go ahead and announce amnesty for all. Why not? After all, to Democrats, the only crime is defending your country. If American citizens are tired of being insulted and ignored, it’s time to ask—who does the Democratic Party actually work for?
