It says a lot about today’s Democrat Party when it takes John Fetterman—hardly a conservative hero—to point out just how cold and disrespectful his own side has become. During President Trump’s latest powerful speech, Democrats couldn’t even bring themselves to stand or clap for two women who have every right to be recognized: Erika Kirk, the widow of a conservative activist murdered for his beliefs, and the grieving mother of Iryna Zarutska, a Ukrainian woman brutally killed on American soil. The so-called party of compassion couldn’t even fake a shred of basic decency for victims and their families simply because the president at the podium didn’t carry a blue flag.
While most Democrats sat glued to their chairs, arms folded and faces pinched, a few brave souls like Fetterman recognized that some things should be above politics—like honoring a widow still raising young children without her husband, or acknowledging the horrific loss a mother feels after her daughter is murdered in cold blood. But the radical Left can’t even get the basics of human decency right, not if it means showing a bit of respect to people with differing views. They’d rather stage petty protests than act like adults.
This is the modern Left in a nutshell: empathy only if you pass their partisan purity test. But if you show up at the Capitol as a conservative or, heaven forbid, as the family of someone whose tragedy undercuts their narrative? Forget kindness, forget unity—you’re ignored. These aren’t supposed to be political moments. These are American stories, the kind of tragedies that should unite us. But the Democrats can’t be bothered. It’s pathetic.
And let’s not overlook their performative outrage on every woke issue, yet total silence when American lives are lost to crime or when heroes’ families are brought into the spotlight. It exposes their hypocrisy for all to see. The minute President Trump highlighted these guests, Democrats would rather sit on their hands than risk being seen as “supportive”. Where’s their courage? Where’s their so-called compassion?
President Trump reminded the world what leadership and basic respect look like. Meanwhile, most Democrats just exposed their true faces: radical, self-satisfied, and totally lacking in the American spirit. Maybe they should ask themselves why their own members are disgusted by their antics. How do you call yourself a leader when you can’t even clap for a grieving widow? Or maybe that’s just what the globalist, anti-family Left is all about—applause only for their own, and nothing for the rest of America.
