Joy Reid’s off-key protest steals the show as Democrats flop at pathetic anti-Trump rally

If you ever needed proof that the Democratic Party is on life support, look no further than Joy Reid’s off-key protest “performance” during President Trump’s thunderous State of the Union address. While President Trump was busy reminding Americans what real leadership looks like, out on the National Mall, Democrats and their pals at MoveOn and MeidasTouch were making fools of themselves at a so-called “People’s State of the Union.” And what a circus it was.

Instead of offering any real debate, leftists paraded a handful of has-beens and whiners across the stage, rambling about the supposed “evil” of Trump’s policies—especially on immigration. With their tired talking points and empty outrage, their counter-rally felt more like open-mic night at a coffee shop nobody wants to visit. But things really hit rock bottom when Joy Reid, desperate for the spotlight, decided to “honor” Rep. Al Green by butchering a soul classic in front of everyone. The original Al Green deserves an apology for what happened to his song that night.

It’s one thing to protest with passion. It’s another to make your movement a punchline. Reid’s off-key attempt to sing wasn’t just embarrassing; it was a symbol of the modern Left: clueless, talentless, and proud of it. Meanwhile, their entire event was so lifeless it made a sloth on sleeping pills look like a bundle of energy. It’s no wonder hardly anyone paid attention, except for the MAGA supporter who stormed the stage and injected the only bit of excitement the night had to offer.

Progressives love to pretend they’re the voice of “real” Americans. But if these were the voices America was listening to, we’d all be running for earplugs. The speakers couldn’t help but lash out at President Trump, painting him as some kind of boogeyman threatening democracy and minorities—typical scare tactics from people who have run out of ideas. Joy Reid even got nasty with Trump supporters, showing just how thin-skinned the Left becomes when confronted with reality.

Here’s the bottom line: while President Trump was busy making America proud, his critics were out there embarrassing themselves on the national stage. If this is the best the Democrats have to offer, they might want to consider a new strategy—or at least a new lead singer. Is it any wonder so many Americans are tuning out liberal noise and tuning back in to real leadership?
