Here we go again: liberal lawmakers in the House are at it, this time trying to tie the hands of our Department of Homeland Security. A new bill wants to ban DHS from using a full-body restraint device called the WRAP—one more tool designed to keep both law enforcement and detainees safe. Instead of letting our officers do their jobs, the left is busy catering to radical activists and the open-borders crowd.
Let’s be clear. The WRAP isn’t some cartoonish torture device. It’s a piece of equipment used in difficult situations to prevent dangerous individuals from harming themselves or others. It’s standard procedure for police and immigration officers across the country. But apparently, liberals think the comfort of suspected criminals or border jumpers matters more than the safety of our agents on the ground.
This is the kind of upside-down thinking that has gotten this country into trouble. For years now, progressive politicians have done everything possible to undermine immigration enforcement. Instead of stronger borders and empowered agents, they want to strip away every tool, every protection, every bit of common sense. Meanwhile, the rest of us live with the consequences—open borders, community danger, and an endless stream of excuses from Washington bureaucrats.
And why? Because liberals hate the idea of law enforcement doing its job. They’d rather grandstand about so-called human rights than support the brave men and women who risk their lives. Make no mistake: this isn’t about compassion. It’s about signaling to the world that America is soft, weak, and ready to be taken advantage of—exactly what the globalists and anti-American elites want.
When will Congress wake up and remember its first job: defend American citizens and our national security? Banning life-saving restraint tools only encourages more chaos and violence. Maybe it’s not the WRAP that needs to go—maybe it’s these incompetent politicians who put criminals before Americans.
