The United States is finally pulling the plug on health aid to Zimbabwe after months of failed talks. Why? Because Zimbabwe’s leaders couldn’t agree to basic transparency, refusing to share critical health data that would actually help ensure the money is spent properly. This isn’t just about Zimbabwe’s stubbornness—it’s about decades of wasted U.S. taxpayer dollars thrown at corrupt and secretive regimes for little to no return.
Once again, we see globalist bureaucrats and left-wing so-called “diplomats” trying to shove American tax dollars down the throats of foreign governments that have no interest in real accountability. Zimbabwe wanted the cash with zero strings attached. They want America to keep forking over millions, but heaven forbid we dare to ask how that money is being used, or if it’s even reaching the people who need it most.
It’s always the same story: the left lectures us about our “moral duty” to other countries, insisting we pay for their health crises while our own border and cities crumble. But when the time comes to ask for something as simple as data-sharing—just the bare minimum—these regimes slam the door and liberals stay silent. This is liberal hypocrisy at its finest: pretending to care about oversight here at home while demanding blind trust abroad.
Meanwhile, American families face skyrocketing health costs, fentanyl flooding our streets, and veterans getting ignored by the government they served. The ruling elite would rather fund sketchy programs in Zimbabwe than actually fix problems right here in the land of the free. It’s a slap in the face to hardworking taxpaying citizens who expect their money to be used wisely.
Let’s call it what it is: Another failed experiment in international “aid” that enriches dictators and leaves Americans holding the bill. If Zimbabwe can’t even meet basic transparency standards, why should we keep sending them a dime? Maybe it’s time we invest those resources in our own communities for a change, instead of rewarding secrecy and corruption abroad. When will the liberal establishment learn: American interests come first—period.
