The Biden Justice Department just tried to pull off something straight out of an Orwell novel. The feds stormed the home of a Washington Post reporter, snatched up her phone, and hoped to go fishing for whatever they wanted. Their excuse? They’re looking for leaks—but what they really want is control. Thankfully, a federal judge stepped in and slammed the brakes, calling out this overreach for what it is: yet another assault on the First Amendment.
It’s clear the Justice Department didn’t do its homework. They ignored press protections that have been on the books for decades, steamrolling right over laws meant to keep the government from spying on reporters. Only when called out in court did these so-called legal “experts” scramble to cover up their blunder. No surprise there—the left would rather trample constitutional freedoms than admit fault. They talk a big game about democracy, then act like despots when it serves their agenda.
Let’s not pretend this is about justice. The Biden administration wants total control of the narrative. Critics get the FBI at their door, and journalists risk having their entire work-life up for grabs if they dare poke holes in the regime’s talking points. This isn’t about catching spies—this is about silencing the press, especially when they publish unflattering stories about the administration or its globalist allies.
Of course, the judge also threw a bone to the DOJ, letting them peek at evidence tied directly to the leak. But even he had to admit it—handing the government full access would be like letting a wolf guard the sheep. When the left gets unchecked power, they can’t help themselves. It’s more about intimidation and control than actual justice.
The left loves to lecture America about “press freedom” and “transparency.” Yet, when push comes to shove, they’ll trample over both in the blink of an eye—just ask that Washington Post reporter. If this is how Biden’s Justice Department behaves now, what happens when they decide your phone, your words, or your rights are “inconvenient” next?
