The latest circus in New York City is just another sign of how far common sense has fallen in liberal America. The NYPD just had to arrest someone for pelting officers with chunks of ice in what the woke left would call a “snowball fight.” Give me a break. The city’s new mayor, Zohan Mamdani, would have you believe it was all harmless fun, but everyone can see this was an outright attack on law enforcement—plain and simple.
Only in a city run by progressive ideologues could violent outbursts in Washington Square Park get brushed off as children’s games. Tossing snowballs? We’re talking about frozen projectiles aimed straight at police. If officers weren’t targets, why did the NYPD need to step in and make an arrest? This is what happens when the people in charge care more about currying favor with radicals than protecting those who keep peace on the streets.
Left-wing leaders like Mamdani bend over backward to excuse lawlessness. First, they demonize cops at every turn. Then, when those same officers face danger, they try to spin the story until truth and fiction are impossible to tell apart. It’s as if public safety doesn’t matter—unless, of course, political points can be scored with the latest anti-cop narrative. The hypocrisy couldn’t be more obvious.
This mayor has a choice: stand with hardworking officers or cozy up with the crowd that throws ice at them. Sadly, he’s chosen sides—and it’s not with the families who want to walk through city parks without fearing mob behavior. Is this what globalist elites want for American cities? Let the rule-breakers take charge, while those who serve and protect get left out in the cold?
New Yorkers deserve better than officials who dismiss attacks on police as childish games. When the left loses touch with reality, chaos reigns—and criminals are emboldened. Maybe the next time someone lobs “just a snowball” at the mayor himself, he’ll start taking law and order seriously. Or will he keep pretending nothing’s wrong, just to score applause from his radical base?
