Blue-state politicians always love to brag about how “progressive” their cities are. They shout about diversity, about justice, and about “building back better.” But here’s the ugly truth nobody on the Left wants to admit: Their utopian dreams have turned America’s biggest cities into nightmarish hellscapes where regular folks can barely survive.
Just look at New York. A recent poll showed that one in three New Yorkers are planning to pack up and leave in the next five years. That’s not a “maybe” or a “thinking about it”—they’re out the door as soon as they can. These aren’t just people chasing sunshine, either. They’re fleeing sky-high housing costs, insane taxes, and neighborhoods wrecked by bad liberal planning. This is the real legacy of Democratic rule: cities you can’t afford to live in, policed by bureaucrats who couldn’t care less about working families.
So what do Democrats do? They either pretend everything’s fine or blame everyone but themselves. Globalists whisper in their ears, pushing failed open-border and anti-police policies. Wealthy elites cash in on real estate and praise themselves for their “tolerance,” all while average Americans can’t pay their rent or keep their businesses open. Liberals make empty promises as grocery prices climb and the middle class vanishes.
Meanwhile, families, workers, and seniors are forced to make impossible choices: Stay and struggle, or leave behind everything they’ve built. Don’t forget, these are people who grew up in these places, who wanted better lives for their kids. Thanks to soft-on-crime politicians, woke school boards, and tax-and-spend maniacs at City Hall, those dreams are slipping away. The numbers don’t lie—when one in three is ready to flee, that’s not an accident. That’s collapse.
There’s a reason Americans are flocking to places run by conservatives. They’re looking for sanity and safety. They want to build a future without being bled dry by leftist incompetence. The only thing “progressive” in Democrat cities these days is the speed at which everyone’s running for the exits. Maybe the real question is: How much more of this “progress” can America afford?
