The left just can’t help themselves. Not even our gold medal men’s hockey team can enjoy a hard-earned win without the liberal elite throwing a tantrum. When Team USA brought home the gold, the left pounced—not to cheer them on, but to scold them over supposed “outrages” that only a professional victim could invent.
Why the outrage this time? Because the men’s team didn’t burst into hysterics or issue a statement every time Donald Trump cracks a joke. The president teased that if he didn’t invite the women’s hockey champs for a White House visit, he’d be “impeached.” Instead of screaming “sexism” and flipping a table, the men’s team did exactly what real athletes do: focus on the game, celebrate the win, and keep politics where it belongs—out of the locker room.
But that’s not enough for the woke mob. No, the left demands everyone treat a harmless, obvious joke like a declaration of war. Apparently, if you don’t act “outraged” 24/7, you must be a secret Trump supporter, a misogynist, or both. It’s almost as if the real goal here isn’t equality, but silencing anyone who doesn’t join the outrage chorus.
Americans used to admire athletes for their skill, teamwork, and grit. Now the left wants to hijack our teams for their pet causes, shoving identity politics everywhere—including the winning moments that should unite us. Instead of celebrating Americans beating the world on the ice, we’re treated to lectures and scoldings because some millionaire activist on Twitter saw a reason to be offended.
Maybe the real question isn’t why the men’s hockey team won’t play the outrage game. Maybe the question is, why do the left and their globalist buddies hate everything good about American sports—competition, merit, pride? Is it really so hard to let our athletes be athletes and our champions be champions? Or has the left forgotten what true victory—and true freedom—looks like?
