The Left loves to pretend it’s the champion of the marginalized. But when a man with Tourette’s—a brutal neurological condition—unintentionally blurts out an ugly word, suddenly the rules change. All that talk about inclusion, compassion, and understanding? It gets shoved aside the moment political optics are at risk. For years, liberals have told everyone that ableism—discrimination against people with disabilities—is horrendous. Now, they cherry-pick which disabilities deserve protection based on the person and the word involved.
Let’s get something straight: Tourette’s causes people to have tics they can’t control. For some, that includes shouting out words society hates to hear. It isn’t a choice, and it definitely isn’t a sign of a person’s feelings or beliefs. But when a guy like John Davidson is afflicted and his tic happens to be a word liberals have weaponized for their own outrage, it’s suddenly open season. The “tolerant” Left doesn’t want context, science, or empathy. They want a scalp.
What’s even richer is watching these so-called progressives twist themselves into knots. When it was time to excuse violence and chaos in cities like New York and Chicago, the Left told us not to judge the mentally ill. They railed against hospitals and jails for these people, insisting it was cruel and inhumane. But when a white man with a neurological condition accidentally says something offensive? Ban him! Cancel his invitations! Run a Twitter poll about whether people like him should even be allowed in public. Liberals flip from inclusion to segregation if the disability makes them uncomfortable.
Even worse, these left-wing pundits show their hypocrisy out in the open. They’ll cheer for movies where the same offensive words are used hundreds of times because it’s “art” and it supposedly “raises awareness.” But let someone suffering with a real disability say it, without control, and out come the pitchforks. They act like their own entertainment makes them woke, but when it’s time for real-world understanding? Crickets.
The truth is, liberals only care about inclusion when it helps their narrative. If it challenges them or gets messy, they abandon their supposed values in a heartbeat. They demand that society bend over backwards for every special group—until it means accepting something uncomfortable. Compassion from the Left is nothing but a show, and their “tolerance” always comes with an asterisk. How many more people have to be sacrificed at the altar of their virtue signaling before Americans get wise to this tired playbook?
