When it comes to the rich and powerful, nobody has a tantrum quite like Democrats. Now they’re losing their minds because Paramount Skydance, an American company, outbid Netflix to take over Warner Bros. Discovery. That’s right—one big studio bought another, the way business works in a free country. But for liberal lawmakers like Cory Booker and Elizabeth Warren, it’s just another excuse to throw a fit.
Apparently, Netflix dropping out of the race was the worst thing that could happen—at least in the warped minds of leftist politicians. Instead of letting competition play out, they panic and screech about “fairness” or “too much power.” Never mind that Netflix is bigger, richer, and even more global. Worried about “media monopolies”? Give me a break. These Democrats were silent when their Silicon Valley pals gobbled up half the tech world. But now that an old-school American brand wins the day, suddenly it’s a five-alarm fire.
What’s really going on is that the liberal elite hate it when they lose control over the entertainment industry. Hollywood and the left have been best friends for decades. Democrats love having their activist megaphones on every streaming platform. But when the outcome isn’t what the globalists want, they stomp their feet and demand investigations. Pathetic.
Instead of focusing on real problems—like inflation that’s strangling families, or criminals running wild—Booker and Warren obsess over who owns what studio lot in California. If liberals spent half as much energy on the border as they do on protecting Hollywood, this country would be a whole lot safer.
So here’s the real issue: it’s not about competition or fairness. It’s about power, pure and simple. The left hates losing it, especially when it comes to the culture wars. Maybe Democrats should just admit it—they’d rather see their globalist buddies win than allow the free market to work for the American people. Why are Democrats so threatened when America wins?
