Democrats in Wisconsin have finally shown their true colors. Instead of working to improve real healthcare and protect the most vulnerable, they want to legalize assisted suicide. It’s the ultimate cop-out—a reckless policy wrapped in soothing words like “death with dignity.” Don’t be fooled. This isn’t about dignity. It’s about dollars and control, plain and simple.
Let’s get something straight: the same Democrats who claim to fight for the poor and the sick are now ready to put them on a fast track to the grave. Their plan allows doctors to hand out lethal prescriptions to anyone with a so-called “terminal diagnosis” and six months to live. Never mind that these predictions are often wrong. Never mind the countless families torn apart by regrets and second guesses. The left is eager to make death quick, easy, and—most importantly—cheaper than real care.
If anyone doubts how fast this slope gets slippery, look north. Canada’s so-called “compassionate” euthanasia program started with the same promises. Today, they kill off not just the terminally ill, but the depressed, the mentally ill, poor people who can’t afford rent, even veterans. One woman with a treatable medical condition was told it’d be easier to just end her life than wait for real treatment. Is this the “progress” Democrats want in Wisconsin?
Here’s something the liberals will never say out loud: socialized medicine and cost-cutting schemes love assisted suicide. When government bureaucrats decide what care you deserve, the answer gets uglier by the year. Now, it’s not just about easing suffering. It’s about clearing hospital beds, saving on treatment, and pushing the most vulnerable aside. Ask yourself—would you trust your life, or the life of a loved one, to politicians and hospital accountants?
The truth is simple—America was built on protecting life and defending the weak, not copying globalist death cults from Europe and Canada. Wisconsin should never become a place where ending a life is easier than supporting and caring for that life. Maybe the left is too blinded by ideology to see it, but that doesn’t mean the rest of us have to let them drag us down this path. How long before this “choice” becomes a requirement?
