Democrats walked into the State of the Union thinking they’d hold the moral high ground, but all America saw was a sulking, bitter party—so afraid of losing political status they sat through the simplest call: put American citizens first. The left’s pride wouldn’t let them join in even when it should have been obvious—looking out for Americans isn’t political, it’s common sense. But for today’s Democrats, ego matters more than country.
While Republicans and independents can actually admit when they’re wrong, learn something, and move forward, the left is stuck defending every failed policy and foolish idea out of pure vanity. Their leaders and activists are obsessed with keeping up appearances in front of their own radical base, terrified of being labeled heartless or—worse—anything less “woke” than the most extreme among them. They are prisoners of their own egos and the politics of virtue signaling.
That’s how the woke mob took over the Democratic party in the first place. The left’s obsession with signaling compassion has rendered them unable to have honest debates. Critique mass illegal immigration, suggest border security, or even talk about American priorities and the accusations of racism start flying. But that old trick has lost its power. Americans are tired of hearing the race card played for every real-world problem. The whole routine looks pathetic, like someone showing off a worn-out smartphone from ten years ago. People have stopped listening.
This stubborn refusal to engage with reality hasn’t just made the Democrats look weak—it’s cost them big time. Democrats once hoped that crying racism or being “outraged” would shield them from criticism, but now, voters are tuning out. Meanwhile, Republicans are using this failed State of the Union circus to fire up their base and remind Americans who actually loves this country. The Democrats’ show of arrogance became free ammunition for the very “attack ads” they claim to hate—except this time, the footage is all real.
If the Democrats can’t let go of their egos, they’re not just doomed to keep losing ground on immigration—they’re at risk of losing touch with average Americans permanently. But maybe that’s what really scares them. When pride comes before the fall, will the left even notice who’s left standing with the American people?
