It’s the same old song and dance from the liberal media—another dramatic headline, another emotional sob story about a so-called “innocent dad” being “ripped” from his home by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. And yet, as usual, the facts they refuse to print tell an entirely different story. The truth? The man ICE arrested in Salisbury wasn’t some harmless father. He was a serial criminal, repeatedly breaking American laws and putting families—his own included—at risk.
Carlos Velasquez-Vargas was in this country illegally. Not once, not twice, but FOUR times he crossed the border after being deported. What was he up to this time? According to law enforcement, Velasquez-Vargas was the subject of a tip about the sexual assault of his own stepdaughter. His criminal history was already long, with charges for domestic assault and violent behavior. And when ICE agents had to step in and do the job the Democrats refuse to acknowledge even needs doing, this so-called victim fought back, going so far as to assault an officer by slamming a door on him. That’s the “family man” the left wants you to lose sleep over?
Let’s get something straight here: reporting like this is pure panic theater. They want Americans scared to let ICE do its job. Every time a criminal illegal faces the consequences of his crimes, the media floods the zone with weepy coverage and ignores the victims. The message from the left is clear: illegal aliens, even those convicted of serious crimes, deserve more sympathy than those hurt by their actions.
Pointing fingers at Trump, or now Secretary Noem, is just the new flavor of their old blame game. The left acts like ICE is a “fascist” creation of Republicans, but they forget—or hope you forget—that ICE operated under Obama, under Bush, under every president since its founding. Raids happened then, too. Kids cried then, too. But back then, the press called it “keeping people safe.” Now, enforcing the law is somehow un-American—because Orange Man Bad, or whatever the narrative of the week may be.
This is why Americans are fed up. The radical left doesn’t want borders, doesn’t care about victims, and will fight tooth and nail to keep criminals like Velasquez-Vargas on our streets. They want you emotional and uninformed, so you’ll look away while our laws are shredded. But regular Americans know better. Are we really expected to feel sorry for a criminal who’s broken our laws over and over, putting children in danger? Or should we finally stand up and demand the return of common sense—and real justice—in this country?
