Democrats in the statehouse talk endlessly about affordability, but when it’s time to actually tighten belts, they do the opposite.

They’ve spent months using that struggle as a prop for their endless campaign promises. But when the cameras are off, what do these politicians really care about? Why is it that every time liberals say they want to “help,” it ends up costing you more? Maybe it’s because their real priority isn’t you or your family — it’s growing their own power. They talk all day about “relief,” but their version of relief is lining bureaucrats’ pockets and pushing their big-government agenda. If you’re looking for real solutions, don’t expect them to come from the same crowd that sees every squeeze on your wallet as another excuse to spend.
The hypocrisy is staggering. While everyday Virginians do the right thing — tightening their belts — Democrats in Richmond just loosen theirs and reach deeper into your pockets. It’s time voters ask who these lawmakers really represent. Their neighbors? Or their own egos?
