Once again, Europe is wringing its hands and calling for “restraint” as America does what needs to be done. Iran, the world’s top sponsor of terrorism, provokes the West and backs bloodthirsty militants. The United States finally responds with a series of military strikes, and what do our supposed allies in Europe do? They clutch their pearls, pleading for calm and caution—as if inaction ever protected innocent lives from radical regimes.
Brussels bureaucrats and British elites don’t have to live with the consequences of their weakness. They’ve made it clear: their biggest fear isn’t Iranian terror spreading across the Middle East, it’s missing their next cocktail party, worried someone will whisper that they “escalated” things. They care more about “stability” than stopping evil. Apparently, “restraint” is the new codeword for turning a blind eye to Islamist thugs.
The United Kingdom, always eager to play peacekeeper while hiding under America’s military umbrella, warns about “wider conflict.” But where’s their outrage when Iran arms terrorists, attacks shipping lanes, and threatens Western values? When real danger rears its head, the globalists’ first instinct is to scold the United States for daring to stand up for itself.
This is spinelessness disguised as diplomacy. Liberals on both sides of the Atlantic whine about the risks of action but ignore the greater risk of doing nothing. Letting Iran off the hook only emboldens its rulers and their allies—who, shockingly, never seem to heed European lectures. The world gets more dangerous because weak leaders would rather look virtuous than back real strength.
America cannot afford to let its foreign policy be dictated by timid Eurocrats and globalist hand-wringers. Every time the West hesitates, our enemies get bolder and the innocent pay the price. The question is simple: will we defend our people and our principles, or let anti-American cowards lead us down the path of surrender once again?
